How Speed Gain Works in Speed Brick Escape

Every step you take in Speed Brick Escape adds bricks to your speed stat. The base rate is one brick per step, but multiple multiplier sources stack multiplicatively to accelerate your progression. Trail multipliers from purchased trails, rebirth multipliers from completed rebirths, pet bonuses, and premium gamepasses all combine to determine how much speed you gain per step. Treadmills provide an additional passive speed stream while you stand still, independent of your walking rate.

Understanding your effective speed gain rate helps you plan rebirth timing, compare trail purchases, and estimate how long it takes to reach stage speed requirements. This calculator combines your active walking rate with all multiplier sources and treadmill passive gain to show your total effective speed per second and per minute.

At 5 steps/sec with 1x trail and 1x rebirth, you gain 5 speed per second while walking.

Understanding Each Input

Steps per second measures how quickly you walk while actively moving on brick paths. Most players average between three and eight steps per second depending on path layout and stage navigation. Straight paths with minimal turns yield higher step rates. Measure your rate by noting speed gained over ten seconds of continuous walking and dividing by ten.

Trail multiplier comes from your equipped trail in the shop. Trail 1 provides a modest multiplier while Trail 16 offers up to 50x. Only one trail equips at a time. Check the shop panel next to each owned trail for its exact multiplier value. If you own no trail, enter 1.

Rebirth multiplier is displayed on the rebirth panel on the left side of your screen. Each rebirth adds to your cumulative multiplier permanently. This is the single most impactful long-term multiplier source and compounds with every subsequent rebirth tier you complete.

Treadmill bonus represents passive speed gained per second while standing on a treadmill without walking. The free spawn treadmill provides modest passive gain. Premium treadmills from the shop provide significantly higher rates. Enter zero if you are not using a treadmill or are calculating walking-only speed.

How the Calculation Works

The calculator multiplies your steps per second by your trail multiplier and rebirth multiplier to determine walking speed gain per second. It then adds your treadmill bonus to produce total effective speed per second. The per-minute figure multiplies the effective speed by sixty for session planning.

Formula: Effective Speed = (Steps/sec × Trail Multiplier × Rebirth Multiplier) + Treadmill Bonus. All multipliers stack multiplicatively for the walking component. Treadmill bonus adds independently because passive treadmill gain does not depend on step rate.

Using Results for Progression Planning

Compare your effective speed against stage speed requirements listed in our stages section. If a stage requires 500 speed and you gain 50 effective speed per second, you need approximately ten seconds of active farming to reach the threshold assuming you start from zero. Factor in rebirth resets when planning because rebirthing drops your current speed to zero while increasing your multiplier for faster rebuilds.

Use this calculator alongside our rebirth planner to decide whether your current multiplier stack justifies a rebirth reset. If upgrading from Trail 3 to Trail 7 doubles your effective speed, the calculator shows exactly how many minutes you save per thousand speed gained. This makes trail purchase decisions concrete rather than guesswork.

Common Multiplier Combinations

Early game players with no trail and one rebirth typically see effective speeds between five and fifteen per second while walking. Mid-game players with Trail 5 through Trail 7 and five to eight rebirths often reach fifty to two hundred effective speed per second. Endgame players combining Trail 14 or higher with ten or more rebirths and premium treadmills can exceed one thousand effective speed per second during active farming sessions.

Pet bonuses are not included in this calculator because pet speed contributions vary by individual pet stats. If your equipped pets add a flat speed bonus, mentally add that to your results. Future calculator updates may include a pet bonus field as the wiki expands.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the speed calculator work?

Enter your base steps per second, trail multiplier, and rebirth multiplier. The calculator shows your effective speed gain per second and per minute.

What multiplier should I enter?

Check your in-game rebirth panel for your current rebirth multiplier. Trail multiplier is shown in the shop next to each trail you own.

Does the calculator account for treadmills?

Treadmill speed gain varies by tier. Use the treadmill bonus field to add passive speed from premium treadmills to your calculation.

Can I use this to plan rebirth timing?

Yes. Compare your current effective speed with projected speed after rebirth to decide if the multiplier gain justifies the reset.
